The BARTLETT-DNA Project was started in October 2002, and in mid-2008 it had 135 participants. Through DNA, the Project has established 16 separate BARTLETT lines from Colonial America, including 8 descendants of Robert BARTLETT of the “Anne.” The Project is open to all BARTLETTs and is particularly desirous of getting more participation from descendants of U.K. BARTLETT lines. There are two goals the Project seeks to accomplish:
If you are a male BARTLETT and would like to join the project, click HERE to purchase your DNA test kit. Most of the current participants have ordered 25 or 35 marker tests, and that is what is recommended. The sample is obtained by rubbing the inside of your cheek with a plastic stick, and returning it in small vials – everything you need is mailed to you in a Kit by Family Tree DNA. They are by far and away the best DNA company for genealogists. Visit their web site to learn more about DNA testing for genealogical purposes. Our BARTLETT-DNA Project results are posted HERE. Be sure to click on the word “RESULTS” for the BARTLETT lines and on “Y RESULTS” to see all the data (the data are not linked to individuals). These links are in a row above the "Project Surnames" section. If you have ANY questions, please contact Jim Bartlett at jim4bartletts@verizon.net |
